Hello, my name is Hannah Arnold. I'm a communications student at Purdue University Fort Wayne looking for a full-time career opportunity as I approach graduation.
My professional and academic experience has given me the opportunity to hone my customer service skills and collaborate with various personality types. My time management skills have grown through learning to prioritize tasks and plan out when tasks need completed.
Skills
Communication Skills
My academic journey as a communication and journalism student has strengthened my written and verbal communication skills. I can effectively convey information whether it be in-person, over the phone, or via email. Additionally, it has helped me develop better listening skills and fully understanding information being relayed to me.
Organized
I've exercised my organizational skills throughout my professional experience. The majority of this took place at my administrative assistant position with PFW's IT department. A large part of my tasks requires me to organize spreadsheets, purchases, and the filing system.
Quick Learner
When learning new things, I usually can pick things up quickly. I am good at remembering the process and steps to take when completing a task. I spend some of my free time crocheting or knitting, learning how to do both has helped me gain a better understanding of how I learn things. Which has made it easier for me to implement this skill during my professional experience at PFW. Specifically, when learning how to use new software and media production technologies.
Detail Oriented
I like to pay attention to details and observe what's going on around me. This is beneficial when I'm writing papers as I'm able to proofread my work and correct grammar/spelling mistakes. It has also helped me in the professional world as I spend time comparing spreadsheets and double checking information. I am good at remembering important details and noticing if something is out of place.
